At the Hamilton County Elections Board meeting, Township Board member Doug Allman said a minority of people will be overwhelmed and described the way the issue was being handled, as well as the construction of the ballot, as “fundamentally wrong.” Before a motion was made to interpret Indiana Code and establish the voting blocs, election board member Clock said he felt for the township’s position. “I agree with councilman Allman that the ballot question is deceiving,” he said. “I think the Fishers interpretation does go against the spirit of the law… You’re correct in pointing out that the township voters are being drowned out.” currentinfishers.com/hamilton-county-election-board-defines-merger-voting-blocsVote NO to Question 1. This question has everyone confused and that will probably lead to the reorganization question winning out. I haven't met one person who wants to stay a town. Many I have talked to are voting yes to both questions because they want to be a city and they want all of Fall Creek Township to be included in our new city. Problem is that it doesn't work like that. The 2nd class city threw some people too saying they wanted to be a first class city and would not vote to be a 2nd class city. Obviously, they don't understand that city class is based on population.
Since I believe that a Reorganized City will win out due to the confusing questions, what I would love to see if this referendum back on the ballot in 2013 so we can have a true vote to see what the town wants. Since a 2nd class city wouldn't begin until 2015 anyway, it wouldn't hurt and we'd already be a city. Problem is being able to get it on the ballot again.

If both Reorg City (Q1) and Class 2 City(Q2) wins, the Reorg City will trump the Class 2 City per the town council position. So if the Class 2 city wins but is doesn't see the light of day because the Reorg City trumps the Class 2 city, can residents collect signatures again to place the Class 2 City on the ballot again? You see, the town council has thought of everything.
